Adding New Book Categories in Amazon How to run a Book Launch

Plan Your Book Launch

Generally, for new books I recommend a two stage promotion, consisting of a soft launch and then a hard launch.

SOFT LAUNCH:
The objective here is to get everything in place so that when you run a fuller promotion, you have all the necessary ingredients to make it successful. Generally this means:

A decent book description

Preferably in Amazon HTML so it has different fonts, bold etc.

A good professional book cover

Read our article on the best ways to find a good book cover.

A good number of reviews

The more the better, but 5 to 10 should be good to start with.

The best categories for your book

Find the categories where you are most likely to be visible

Note There are a few other touch-ups you can consider such as SEO (especially for non-fiction) and having your Author Page set up nicely; and adding links at the end of your book to your other books for cross-sales opportunities etc, but the first 4 listed above are the most important.

For the soft launch, you should cover the first 3 points, with the best categories for your book being sorted out at least in time for the hard launch. Of these 3 points, getting a good number of initial reviews is probably the hardest to achieve.
If you need help on any of these points, we can help you out if help is needed.

HARD LAUNCH: (usually within 2-3 weeks of the soft launch).
With the above points set up, you can then do a hard launch where you are aiming for maximum sales and visibility. For many this means your book appearing in:
- The Best Sellers lists in your category
- Hot New Releases

For the HARD LAUNCH you clearly should aim for sales and a bit of know-how in picking the best categories for your book to get you there with the minimum expense.

If you need assistance here, I recommend the Best Seller Bronze or Silver service we offer ; or the the Best Seller Gold service if you want to try and reach the #1 Best Seller spot or at least in the top 10 if your book is in mainstream genres like Romance, Thrillers, Science-Fiction. Details of each of these promotion packages ( showing expected sales numbers you can expect, reviews, pricing etc) can be found at: https://www.kbookpromotions.com/getstarted.html

Does this approach make sense to you? Or did you have something else in mind?
If so, let me know if you want to go ahead with these recommendations, or try some variations of it.
I look forward to your reply - Richard
