Tracking Your Amazon Sales Rank

UPDATE: Alas, Kindle Daily Nation's Ebook Tracker Tool is no more. We will be evaluating other tools to see if we find anything comprable to this previously very helpful tool. HELIUM 10 is one option but it is not cheap.

Many authors follow their book promotion avidly, checking their sales in KDP or Author Central every hour if not 2 or 3 times an hour. On the other hand, I have worked with some authors who have either forgotten to check their promotional results on the day, or were on holiday or too busy to do so. The issue of tracking book promotion results is particularly awkward for authors who had their books published by independent publishers. Many of these publishers only release your book sales results once every three months, which is far too late to help understand if a recent promotion you ran was successful or not.
A cool tool to help you out here is Kindle Daily Nation's Ebook Tracker Tool.  This is a really nice free tool that tracks your Amazon Sales Rank with decent graphics as can be seen. So each day, you can see how high or low your sales rank has gone. While it will not show you the number of downloads or sales you generated, you should see a big peak in your sales ranking during the days of your promotion.
